Thanksgiving
December 3, 2008 by welcometoutah
We had Thanksgiving with some of Tim’s fellow math students at Becky & Mami’s place. It was different, but traditional in some ways (there was too much food, the turkey took longer to cook than expected). I made a vegetarian strudel to substitute for the Turkey. Mmm.
Here are some pictures from the card games. There’s not really any of us because Tim was the one shooting and he was sitting next to me.
Mami (math student from Japan) and her boyfriend Tom (visiting from North Carolina)
Becky (math student from Alaska)
(Jah-Yung? -don't know how to spell his name, math student from China)
My Uno cards
Becky -pensive
(Cheih-Cheh? -also don't know how to spell his name, math student from Taiwan)
Seeta (math student, who will not reveal where he is from) playing Becky's guitar
I like math grad students playing Uno.
Hi.
I noticed you made a vegetarian strudel. I love turkey but I can’t have it anymore because it is a major contributor to my gout attacks.
I was wondering if you would be kind enough to let me take a peek at that recipe. I’ll send you the best Apple Muffin recipe I’ve ever had in exchange.
Apple Muffins
12 Large ones
3 1/2 C Flour
2 1/2 C Sugar
2 tsp Baking Powder
2 tsp Cinnamon
1/4 tsp Nut Meg
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Cloves
4 Eggs
2 C Grated Apples
1 1/3 C Raisins
1 C Oil, Canola
2 Tsp Wheat Germ
1 C chop Walnuts
Mix the dry ingrediants
Add the rest, mix till just moist
Fill large muffin cups 2/3 full.
Sprinkle with sugar.
40 min @ 325 degrees
These are best if left alone for a few days. They really develope a good flavor.
Hello,
I got the recipe from Vegetarian Times Magazine in their November issue. It is up on their website: http://www.vegetariantimes.com/recipes/10728?section=
